It’s not warm, sunny California with big waves rolling off the Pacific Ocean at Laguna Beach, but Lake Superior provides some solid surfing action if you dress for it and don’t mind a little cold.

A surfer from Duluth found some nice waves near the Grand Marais Rec Park campground last week. Paul Sundberg said the young man surfed right up until dark, and when Paul talked to him, he said he loves surfing Lake Superior and he “was having a blast.”
