A large work crew is currently building a section of the Gitchi-Gami State Trail in Tofte that runs from the US Forest Service Ranger Station to Tofte Homestead Drive. So far 33 miles of the 86-mile Gitchi-Gami State Trail has been finished. When complete, the non-motorized paved path will run along the shore of Lake Superior from Two Harbors to Grand Marais.
