Because beavers are nocturnal, it’s rare to find them working during the day. And because they are so skittish, it’s very hard to get pictures of them like the one above. According to the Little Medical School of Ottawa, Beavers don’t cut trees down for food. Instead, they log trees to form lodges and dams. However, they do eat the tree bark and softer wood underneath. Mostly beaver eat leaves, woody stems and aquatic plants. Besides being masterful engineers, beavers are clever enough to store branches on the muddy bottoms below their lodges so in the winter, when they spend most of the time inside, they can go below for a quick McBranch burger.
