Krystal Brown of Houston, Texas captures the sunset at Don Davison’s dock on Devil Track Lake. Krystal was one of almost 70 painters who participated in the 2021 Plein Aire painting competition held by the Outdoor Painters of Minnesota. David Gilsvik of Two Harbors was the competition juror. This was the 19th year of Plein Air Grand Marais. Since 2018 the weeklong painting, learning and competition has been sponsored and organized by the Outdoor Painters of Minnesota along with the Cook County Historical Society’s Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery. The competition exhibit will be on display at the Johnson Heritage Post through October 10, 2021.
