The North House Folk School Hjordis burgundy sails have been seen all summer long in and around the Grand Marais harbor as folks have signed up for short cruises on Lake Superior. While the summer weather has been optimal for sailing, camping, and other outdoor pursuits, the lack of rain has created the driest summer in years, and fires burn in the BWCA and across the way in Canada. Recent rain and cooler temperatures are quelling the fires as fall weather appears to be here.
