Paul and Karla Sundberg took their 13-year-old granddaughter Addie to a beaver pond where these Wild Iris or Blue Flags, as some call them, grow and Addie, visiting from Georgia, took this stunning picture with grandpa’s camera. These bold and beautiful flowers are named after Iris, the ancient Greek goddess of the rainbow and the messenger of Olympian gods. Found in meadows and marshes, it is illegal to pick and transplant these colorful flowers from state or federal lands.
