Mama moose and her two calves look for a little lunch as they amble about just off a road located near the Gunflint Trail. It takes calves three to five years to reach maturity and when they reach adulthood, they can weigh from 800 to 1,800 pounds. That’s a lot of lunches they need to find as they grow up.
