Photo courtesy of Darin Fagerman Richard “Dick” Parker of Grand Marais was recently nominated for Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Snowmobile Safety Instructor of the Year. Parker was recognized by Cook County DNR officers and area volunteers for all the hard work and effort he puts into the DNR’s youth safety programs. He was one of this year’s 7,500 dedicated volunteer instructors across the state. “He is the cream of the crop when it comes to dedication and commitment to the youth in our community,” said DNR Conservation Officer Darin Fagerman. “We are extremely lucky to have the greatest volunteers in this state located right here in our small community.” Fagerman welcomes questions from the public at (218) 387-9751(L-R) DNR Conservation Officer Thomas Wahlstrom, Tofte District; Dick Parker; Officer Darin Fagerman, Grand Marais District.
