These are feral cats living in The Bronx in New York City. Within their neighborhood, volunteers feed them and provide fresh water every day. A nonprofit organization carefully captures the cats, and then works with veterinarians to neuter, and vaccinate the animals. This is called a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program. When the cats have recovered, they are released back into the same neighborhood so they can rejoin their colony.
