The Silver Bay-Cook County Peewees headed to a tournament in Ashland, Wis.—to compete in a tournament with the motto “A kid on the ice is seldom in hot water.”

Sunday morning the Peewees found themselves in the championship game against Forest Lake. This was by far the best game of this season for our Peewees. The group of 10 skaters and a goalie came out strong and got on top early.

At the end of the second period of play the score was 3 – 2 and they knew they had to win every shift to win this one and bring home the first place hardware.

It was an awesome game. Fans could see moments where the kids were running out of steam against the Forest Lake team, which had eight more skaters then we have but these boys continued to dig deep, work hard and they claimed that championship trophy.
