The Silver Bay/Grand Marais Peewees hosted one last hockey tournament for the season this past weekend, March 19-20 in Silver Bay.

Our local boys took to the ice Saturday morning and claimed their first victory of the weekend over Moose Lake with a score of 7 – 2. They kept their goal scoring alive later in the day against Two Harbors by claiming a large 12 – 2 win over the Agates.

Sunday at noon brought the championship game against the Pine City Dragons. This was by far the most physical game of the weekend, but our peewees were up to the challenge and claimed their third victory of the weekend. The hometown team earned first place hardware by defeating the Dragons 7 – 1.

This team of 11 should be so proud of themselves—not only did they have a great weekend of victories but an awesome season of peewee hockey with a final record of 24 – 9 – 1! Way to go boys!
