Paul Dorr had all of his pitches working against McGregor as he threw a complete game shutout to lead the Vikings to a 17-0 win over the Mercs.
The game was played Tuesday, May 17, in McGregor.
The Vikings put up five runs the first inning to jump out to a big early lead. Jacob Dorr drove in the first run when he singled off the first pitch he saw.
The Vikings scored five runs in the second and five in the third. In the third inning Kole Anderson, Ray Dresseley, Amos Falter and DJ Seidel all drove in runs.
Paul Dorr gave up six hits and no runs over five innings. He struck out five and didn’t issue a walk. The game was called after five innings because of the tenrun rule.
Isaiah Serfling took the loss for the Mercs. He pitched two and third innings, giving up 14 runs on four hits while striking out two.
Tate Crawford went 2-2 at the plate to lead Viking hitters. Other Vikings with hits were J Shannon, Patrick Pierre, Jacob Dorr, Ray Dressley and Amos Falter.
The Vikings didn’t commit any errors in the field and Kole Anderson had the most chances in the field with six.
Isaiah Serflilng led McGregor by going 2-2 at the plate. McGregor finished with five fielding errors.
