When Paul Dorr moved with his family at the end of his junior year it meant an opening for someone else on the Vikings’ basketball team. Well, also the football and baseball teams because Paul had been the starting quarterback and a strong pitcher/fielder in baseball. Last week the former 6’4” Viking guard, who has been the sixth man on Holy Family’s basketball team, came in with 11 minutes to go after Holy Family’s star 6’11” player Boden Kapke fouled out. Paul scored seven points against Minneapolis North to help his team secure a berth in the state championships.
Dick Dorr, Paul’s grandfather, was in attendance at the game. He said, “When they cut the net down, and Paul took part, the crowd chanted MVP. Grandpa is proud. They are 28-2 and off to State!”
