Oxycodone sale leads to arrest of Grand Marais man




After Cook County Law Enforcement was tipped off about the possible illegal sale of prescription drugs, a Grand Marais man was arrested and charged with selling six oxycodone tablets. Robert Joseph Gotchie Jr., 32, was charged on March 4, 2013 with unlawfully selling, or possessing with the intent to sell, one or more mixtures containing oxycodone.

The maximum sentence for the felony is 15 years and/or $10,000 for a first violation.

Gotchie entered a plea of guilty on November 12, 2013 and was sentenced on January 28, 2014. He was committed to the Minnesota Correctional Facility at St. Cloud for 21 months, with credit for 296 days served. He was also required to pay a fine/surcharge of $75.
