The Cook County Senior Center is the place to stay connected—in person and online! Nona Smith and Bill Shaffer check out the two newest computers at the center.

The Cook County Senior Center is happy to announce that the center has three new public computers. One is a special “senior computer,” with a larger easyto read screen display and larger easy to use screen prompts.

All of the center’s computers are equipped with high-speed wireless Internet and printing capabilities. They are also equipped with Skype to use for free long distance conversations. Feel free to stop in and make use of them. Director Bev and Assistant Director Kristen are available to help with computer or Internet questions. If you are new to the Internet, we can help!

These computers were purchased with monies from the Cook County Broadband Commission through the Blandin Foundation which received federal funds through the U.S. Department of Commerce. This is a great example of a very beneficial trickledown effect of federal monies to our local community.
