Even though snow has been slow to come this year, winter marches on, getting closer and closer to Christmas.

For many this is a time of joy, but not for all. So far 65 kids throughout the county will be short Christmas presents if no one lends a hand, and this is where you can help.

“The North Shore Credit Union in Grand Marais will have a tree with ‘ornaments’ on it that will have the age, gender and some ideas for a child’s wishes on it,” said Andrea Everson, one of the organizers of this event.

“Please select however many kids you would like to help out and return the gifts that you have bought, unwrapped or in gift bags with each ornament tag securely fastened to the outside of the gift bags,” Everson said. “We are trying to keep gifts around $20.”

All gifts need to be dropped off at the North Shore Federal Credit Union in Grand Marais by December 15. If you have any questions, please contact Lindsay Mielke at Lindsay.meilke@ co.cook.mn.us or Anna Sandstrom at Asandstrom@isd166.org.
