Operation Family Christmas gears up

Christmas is coming, pandemic or no pandemic. And that means Operation Family Christmas is up and running again, although there are some changes this year.

Program Coordinator Jes Rodne offered, “Like everything else, it’s going to look a little different. On Monday, November 2, I posted an application online (look for it on social media) for parents to apply to the program. Parents will be able to fill it out and send it back to me. If you are unable to do that, please call me at 218-370- 2019 and we can fill out the application together over the phone.”

Who can participate? Cook County parents or legal guardians with children, age zero months to 18 years, that need a little help during the holiday season.

All applications need to be returned by November 25 at 4 p.m.

For the public who has the ability (and heart) to give, Operation Family Christmas gives you a chance to donate anonymously to a child or children who might not find anything under the Christmas tree for them on Christmas morning.

Jes Rodne said, “I am so excited to be the coordinator for this program for my fifth year and am honored to be able to contribute to making Christmas morning magical for all these kiddos that have had a tough, tough year! I look forward to working with all the families in need and also with our community members that want to help make a difference!”
