Older students should be allowed open campus at lunchtime

Remember how it was a big deal to get to a certain age because it meant you could do different things? Like stay up an extra hour at night when your younger siblings had to go to bed? There are so many examples of the benefits of getting older and doors getting opened because of it. One of those benefits is open lunch at school.

I don’t know any 10th grader who isn’t excited about being in 11th or 12th grade just because they can leave the campus for lunch for a measly half hour. Nonetheless, it is exciting and something the younger ones look forward to.

Now “they” want to take open campus for the lunch period away, citing safety issues.

I cannot agree less.
