Oddz & Endz releases community investment grants

Once again, Oddz & Endz, your quirky nonprofit thrift store, is pleased to announce its annual community investment distribution for 2022.

Twenty-nine Cook County nonprofit organizations will each benefit by receiving a portion of the $80,443.17 raised by Oddz & Endz last year.

What is Oddz & Endz?

Oddz & Endz is a nonprofit run entirely by volunteers. Our mission can be characterized by three words: environment, economy, and empathy. We accept donations of clean, resaleable household goods, including furniture. We make these items available to the community at economical prices to be reused or repurposed.

At times, we have also been able to meet emergencies or special needs in our community. In 2022, we began collaborating with Library Friends of Cook County. They organize and stock the book room at Oddz & Endz, making good used books available to the community. After paying our operating expenses (rent, utilities, insurance, taxes), we distribute the remaining revenue to other local nonprofits through our annual community investment distribution.

The local nonprofit recipients included in the distribution are listed here:

Oddz & Endz, Library Friends of Cook County, American Legion Post 413, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 413, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Care Partners of Cook County, Colvill Fire Department, Cook County Higher Education, Cook County Historical Society, Cornerstone Community Church, Council on Aging, Empty Bowls Cook County, First Congregational Church, Food Shelf, Free Church-Celebrate Recovery, Go Dog North, Grand Marais Playhouse, Hamilton Habitat, Mt Rose Community Church, Grand Portage, North Point, Northshore Health Care Foundation, Oral Health Task Force, Renewable Energy Cook County, Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club, Ruby’s Pantry, Spirit of the Wilderness Episcopal Church Good Samaritan Fund, Trinity Lutheran Church, Hovland, Violence Prevention Center, and WISE.

The board and volunteers thank you for supporting our community through donations, purchases, and volunteering. Because of your generosity, Oddz & Endz will distribute $80,443.17 this year to nonprofits in our local community. Thank you!

Oddz & Endz is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Friday, Saturday, and Monday (excluding some holidays).

Come see us. Everyone is welcome.
