Join the North Shore Forest Collaborative effort to plant, protect, and grow the North Shore forest, starting on your property!
Fencing helps landowners protect white pine (and white cedar) trees they plant on their North Shore properties from deer browsing. Thanks to a generous donation from the Weeke’s Family Foundation, we are offering tree-fencing packages at the discounted price of $30.
Each package contains: One 50-foot fence roll by six-feet high;
Ten (10) steel rebar stakes (7-foot lengths); Thirty zip ties (for anchoring the fence to the stakes).
A single 50-foot fence roll can create either five single-tree enclosures or one large 12-foot by 12-foot enclosure.
Private North Shore landowners interested in this program must complete an online application by April 15, 2020. Fencing must be picked up by July 31, 2020.
New this year, full service packages are available (limited supply). Full-service packages are available at a discounted cost of $200 – a 50 percent discount off the actual price.
Each package includes: One 50-foot fence roll by six-feet high; ten (10) steel rebar stakes (7-foot lengths); thirty zip ties (for anchoring the fence to the stakes) and five (5) white pine seedlings that are donated by Rajala Woods Foundation.
Delivery, planting, and fencing of your trees are limited to two hours.
Limit one package per applicant.
