Button, button, who’s got the button?
Becky Lyon, no doubt, has many buttons.
As past president of the Minnesota State Button Society and board member of the National Button Society, Lyon judges competitions and gives programs at both state and national collectors’ conventions; and has published articles on many button subjects.
Lyon will be the featured speaker at the April 14 Northwoods Fiber Guild workshop that will be held at the Wunderbar from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Have you ever wondered about the history of buttons? When and why different kinds were introduced? What materials they’ve been made of? Why they’ve been called “art in miniature”? Lyon can answer those questions.
And if you have questions about buttons you own, bring them along!
She also offers sets of antique and vintage buttons for sale, which the Fiber Guild will get a percentage of.
The program is complimentary for Fiber Guild members and open to non-member guests for $5 (payable at the door). Plan to stay for a delicious Wunderbar lunch (at your own expense), with continued conversation and looking at buttons with Lyon and each other. And maybe, if there is time, even play a round or two of “Button, button, who’s got the button?”
