North Shore Rollers thank Lions, sponsors and volunteers

The North Shore Rollers would like to thank the Grand Marais Lions Club and all of the amazing sponsors and donators to the Minnesota State Log Rolling Tournament. We couldn’t have done it without your help.

Our major sponsors were North Shore Title, Grand Marais State Bank, Hungry Jack Lodge, Grand Marais Lions Club, Gunflint Mercantile, The Big Lake, Set Out Printing, Husqvarna, Glenn Peterson Construction, and Camp Chow.

Our team sponsors were Hedstrom’s Lumber Company, Java Moose, Mike’s Holiday Gas station, Timberwolff Realty.

Thank you to Kevin and Jen DeRosier of Cook County Towing for bringing down the bleachers and taking them back so quickly.

Thanks to Sven & Ole’s and Dairy Queen for all the gift certificates for the amateur bags. Buck’s Hardware and Cook County Home Center for our supplies for the new tank this year. Best Western and Security State Bank for your donations as well.

Last we can’t thank all of the parents who helped us this past weekend enough. We were a tad unsure going into doing such a large event and you made it so smooth to help make sure brackets ran smoothly, timing, judging and corralling kids to make sure they were all ready to “roll.”

We know this is your vacation when you come here and we couldn’t have done it without you! So this is also your tournament. Thank you David and Amanda Plummer, Silvi Duclos, Krista Mixdorf, Brooke Youngdahl, Chris Serpico, Todd and Denise Diethert, Jenny Anderson Atkinson and Neil Atkinson, Polly and John Pappadopolous, and Richard Magnone, for your amazing photographs you take of the log rollers; Shayna Magnone, Emma Magnone, Troy and Shary Birdsong, Susie Polentini, Carol Lyons, Julie Colby, Jeff Koblitz, Ben Megan, and Priem Berg.

Last but not least, thank you Jamie Fischer for putting on a great Lumberjack Show. Congratulations to you all who competed!

Editor’s note: The biggest thank you should go to Andrea and Tony Everson. They were the fundraisers and event coordinators for the amateur and professional log rolling tournament and were also very instrumental in getting Jamie Fischer to bring his lumberjack show to the Fisherman’s Picnic.
