After two and one-half years of owning and running the North Shore Pharmacy, Cory Malstrom has decided it’s time to make a transition with his life and is closing the business.
“It’s been pretty amazing. I feel like this is a second home to me,” said Malstrom, who is moving to Duluth to be with his spouse. The couple married last fall and are planning to start a family. “I made a commitment to be the primary caregiver,” Cory said, adding he would seek fill-in work at independent pharmacies when time allowed.
As for customer prescriptions, they are now on file at the Grand Marais Pharmacy.
The items on the store shelves are on sale and are clearing fast.
“Our last day open is April 19. Anything we can’t sell or be returned to the manufacturer will be donated to local nonprofits,” Malstrom said.
“I have had a lot of calls from customers wishing me well. I am going to miss them and my amazing staff, who are just really good people,” he said.
