The mint new North Shore Health facility had an artists reception and talk for the hospital’s inaugural art exhibit held Friday, June 29 with about 20 people in attendance.
The two artists currently being displayed through October 1 are Lynn Anderson and the late Ade Toftey, longtime owner, and publisher of the Cook County News-Herald.
Ade’s daughter, Susan Hildebrand attended the reception and spoke about her father’s art and told a little bit about his background.
Susan said that her father wanted to be a cartoon artist when he was young but added that he was also colorblind!
Lynn Anderson spoke about her photography. She began working in this media when she was a little older and talked about how her college photography instructor really challenged her to see differently. She also spoke about always saying yes and being open to the possibilities presented to her.
Every few months new art will replace the current artwork. This will keep interior walls fresh and vibrant while giving local artists a chance to display their considerable skills.
