North Shore goalie to participate in Minnesota Selects Hockey Festival

Chase Bronikowski, 9, has been selected to participate in the 2012 Minnesota Selects Festival. This is a three-day hockey festival comprised of Minnesota’s Finest youth hockey players. This is the 24th year for the festival.

Every year since 1988, the Minnesota Selects has held a three-day festival comprised of 680 youth hockey players throughout the entire state. There are both boys’ and girls’ divisions with the main focus being that of honoring players not only for their hockey ability, but also for their academic achievements.

The 2012 festival will feature boys and girls in birth year brackets for 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. Chase, who plays with the North Shore PeeWee B2s, was chosen to represent the 2002 North Selects Team as a goalie.

The tournament takes place March 30 – April 1 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Chase and the other boys will play at the National Hockey Center, home of the St. Cloud Huskies. You can follow the Minnesota Selects on Facebook, Twitter and www.mnselects.com.

Chase is the son of Casey and Matt Bronikowski of Grand Marais.
