North House releases annual report

How much does North House Folk School add to the local economy?

It turns out quite a bit.

North House Folk School (NHFS) Director Greg Wright came before the Grand Marais City Council on September 13 with a report about the activities at the school and economic stimulus to our area based on a 2016 analysis.

Sixty painters competed in the juried category, which includes a variety of competition cash prizes. The open category, which is open to all skill levels, had 20 artists compete to receive an invitation to next year’s juried competition.

Stop by the Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery and the Art Colony to view all these incredible North Shore paintings before October 29.

Mark your calendars for 2018 Plein Air Grand Marais. The competition will run September 7-14 with the opening reception scheduled for September 14. Paintings will be exhibited from September 14 – October 28.
