While the sunshine of summer may define the day, the colors of fall are on the horizon.
With this in mind, North House is busily planning for its annual fall event under the Big Top—Unplugged: The Northern Harvest.
This year the weekend event takes place Sept 25 – 27 and will feature three internationally known singer-songwriters: Dougie MacLean, Scotland’s folk music superhero; Sally Barris, Nashville-based folk singer with Minnesota roots; and Jon Vezner, Grammy-award winner and Unplugged’s creator.
Details about the songwriters are available online.
Adding even more music to the weekend, Over The Waterfall will lead both family and community dancing Friday night.
International Swedish artisan Fritioff Runhall will be welcomed to campus to host two multi-day courses focused on traditional farmstead woodcraft.
Other coursework includes the return of the Unplugged Songwriting Workshop with Jon Vezner (and Sally Barris), Harvest Basket/Red-Osier Basketry with Tina Fung Holder, and Cedar Hand Drum Making with Eric Mase.
Tickets for the events are available now either online or by phone. Call North House at 218-387-9762 or see http:// www.northhouse.org.
