North House Folk School will once again host “Unplugged,” its signature fall fundraiser and celebration of community, craft, storytelling, and music on the North Shore. This event features courses, lectures, our Folk Artisan Marketplace, fundraising gala, an online auction, and a culminating performance.

The three-day celebration will occur from Sept. 13-16.

Friday night is host to the Flannel Formal, a time to come together to support the mission of North House. Five chefs (Judi Barsness, Scott Graden, Beth Dooley, Eric Edgin, and Beatrice Ojakangas) will present five courses and be joined by Fulton Beer, North Shore Winery, and Voyageur Brewing Company. Plus, enjoy the premiere of the North House 20th anniversary video by instructor and board member Layne Kennedy.

Join in the fun on Saturday evening for a performance with Kevin Kling, Dan Chouinard, Prudence Johnson, Simone Perrin, Claudia Schmidt, Dane Stauffer, and special guests Jon Vezner and Don Henry.

Don’t miss the Points North online Auction—a place to support the mission by bidding on iconic North Shore experiences, lodging packages, traditional handmade craft, and more. Sneak peek starts on Aug. 31 and bidding is from Sept. 8 – 17. (Online at www.biddingforgood.com/northhouse)

Meet the hands and faces behind your favorite crafts at the Folk Artisan Marketplace: April Stone, Liz Bucheit, Michael Seiler, Angela Robins, Beth Homa Kraus, Marybeth Garmoe, Elise Kyllo, Candace LaCosse, and Swedish spoon carver Niklas Karlsson.

North House Executive Director Greg Wright notes, “Our story is about reaching out and connecting to the world and gathering people together.” An idea that started with 20 courses and no classroom space has grown into over 400 courses annually and seven buildings – surely a reason to celebrate!
