A “Get Ready for Earth Day” Community Trash Pick-up was held on Wednesday, April 20. Participants filled a number of trash bags with an assortment of litter.

On Wednesday, April 20 at Harbor Park, the Nordic Nature Group (NNG), a few members of the Lions Club and people from the community picked up trash for the “Get Ready for Earth Day” Community Trash Pick-up.

The trash pick-up was sponsored by NNG, a group of eight girls (called naturalists), ranging from 8-13 years old, that strives to help nature in good ways and take care of the Earth.

Here are just some things that the NNG and the community found: cigarette butts (lots), pop cans, green-treated boards, plastic bottles, two stolen bikes, a $5 bill, wrappers, one mouse trap, plastic, rope, a yarn ball, paper, sucker sticks and lots more.
