Nonprofit fan base building at April 22 luncheon

Cook County Higher Education is sponsoring a brown bag lunch at 11:30 a.m. April 22 at its Grand Marais campus on Third Street.

Tracy Benson of the Cook County Community Fund notes that, “Just as any successful business, nonprofits want a loyal customer base. What is your message? Is it being heard? Who is as passionate as you are about your cause and do they know you exist?”

In an attempt to find answers for some of these questions, the agency will bring Erik Peterson to share his expertise with local nonprofits. Peterson’s passion is community organizing and coalition building. He has worked with unions, nonprofits and community coalitions, and he is able to provide strategic planning, communications and messaging.

Those interested are urged to bring their brown bag lunch (desserts and beverage will be provided) and take advantage of this free presentation.
