An important event that takes place each Fisherman’s Picnic is the naming of the Cook County Citizen of the Year and Senior Citizen of the Year. A number of community notables have been honored on the Lion’s grandstand and with a chauffeured ride in the Fisherman’s Picnic parade. If you know someone who should be honored for the contribution they have made to Cook County, please consider nominating them for one of these awards.
Nominations for these two special awards will be accepted until Wednesday, July 22. Nominations may be for an individual or a couple, who have made Cook County a better place to live.
The Lions ask that you provide information about the nominee such as name, date of birth, marital status, number of children, number of years lived in the county, work history, church affiliation, offices held and when, member of organizations, public offices held, current community involvement.
