Cook County emergency responders were paged to busy downtown Tofte at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21 for a single-vehicle rollover.
Rita Wehseler, 50, Tofte was driving westbound on Highway 61 in a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. A 2002 Ford F250 pickup, registered to Tofte Management Company, was attempting to enter the highway from the Tofte Park Road by the post office.
The driver of the Ford inched forward to see if the road was clear, blocking part of the eastbound lane. Wehseler braked hard in an effort to avoid the other pickup and lost control. Her vehicle rolled over and ended up on its roof on the upper side of the road.
Minnesota State Trooper Aaron Schmidt said Wehseler was wearing her seatbelt and suffered no apparent injury.
The pickup suffered moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Cook County Towing. There were no traffic delays.
No citation was issued.
