The Cook County News-Herald won two awards in the Minnesota Newspaper Association’s annual Better Newspaper Contest.
Winners were announced Thursday, January 26, at the MNA awards banquet in Minneapolis.
Competing in the weekly newspaper division with circulations from 2,501 to 5,000, the Cook County News-Herald’s advertising designer Laurie Johnson won second place in the Best Advertisement category for the full-page Gunflint Lodge ad, and she won third place for Advertising Excellence for the general layout of the ads in the newspaper.
