New year, new activities at Care Center

The holiday season was a busy and memorable time for the residents at the North Shore Care Center. There was traditional holiday food, carolers, gift giving, a Santa visit, and good times with family and friends. The residents want to thank the American Legion Auxiliary, the local churches, Care Center employees, and many community individuals and families for their generous donations of money, gifts, and time to make this holiday season so special. We are truly blessed to live in such a caring community.

2016 is here with the usual year-end trivia and resolutions for the New Year. The residents will enjoy some intergenerational activities with the Henneman children on January 8 and January 22 with “Kids Korner”- an evening filled with fun and laughter. We welcome kids groups of all ages to participate in activities with the residents at the Care Center. Please call the Activity office at 387-3518 to schedule a time.

January 24-29 is National Activity Professionals Week. It is a time to recognize how meaningful activities enrich the quality of life at any age. It is also a time to acknowledge the valuable role of the Activity Dept. staff and the many volunteers who make our programs happen all year long. We could not do it without you!

Happy New Year to all from the residents and staff at North Shore Care Center!

Cook County has a vibrant and active community of elders. Each week we will offer Senior News to highlight our senior citizens. This week’s submission is about the North Shore Care Center, courtesy of Activities Director Belinda Hudler.
