New Violence Prevention Center director named

With Jodi Yuhasey’s announcement that she was retiring as the director of the Violence Prevention Center, the board didn’t have to look very far to find a replacement. The Violence Prevention Center (VPC) is thrilled to share the news that Lindsey Gau has accepted the job as the new VPC director.

Lindsey brings with her 2½ years of experience working in all areas of services and programming at the Violence Prevention Center. In her role prior to joining the Violence Prevention Center, Lindsey worked for a large organization in the Twin Cities working with survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence.

Jodi Yuhasey, who is retiring from the VPC director position, said, “The board, volunteer advocates and I are very excited to have Lindsey accept the position. Lindsey’s caring, creativity, knowledge, and passion are a perfect fit looking to the future of the Violence Prevention Center serving the Cook County community.”

Jodi has been with the Violence Prevention Center since 1993. She will stay on for a short period of time to help Lindsey make the transition to the director position.

The mission of the VPC is to serve individuals and families in Cook County affected by domestic and sexual violence and to act as a catalyst in building healthy relationships and developing a community where violence is not tolerated.
