Rick Price, second from the left, is the owner and founder of New Legacy Project. He began his 40-year career in southern gospel music with the legendary Blackwood Brothers Quartet. Originally a protégé of the late Cecil Blackwood, Rick was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame with the Grammy- and Dove-award winning group in the 1990s. Groundbreaking Nashville-based New Legacy Project will be in concert on Saturday, July 21, 7 p.m., at Zoar Lutheran Church, 7239 Highway 61 in Tofte. This is a non-denominational event and admission is free.
Formerly the Blackwood Legacy, they are best known for their intricate harmonies, true southern gospel sound, and homespun humor. They were recently honored with nomination for both Fan Favorite and Breakthrough Artists of the year at the prestigious AGA awards show in Nashville.
Rick Price, who spent much of his 40-year career with the Grammy and Dove award-winning Blackwood Brothers, and who was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame with the legendary quartet, leads New Legacy. Price says, “In 40 years of gospel music, this is the finest group I have ever been a part of. Not only are they great singers and musicians, they are wonderful Christian men.”
New Legacy is currently charting on radio with their latest singles “God of the Empty Grave” and “Come To The Water.” Their latest musical project, Doxology, is also being met with rave reviews across the U.S.
