Every year people come and go at I.S.D. 166, and next year will be no different.
At the school board’s March 17 meeting it was announced that Cook County High School will get a new football and boys’ basketball coach next year.
Boys’ varsity basketball Coach Andy Feddema who teaches social studies and serves as the Activities Director, has announced his resignation effective June 7.
“It was a tough decision,” said Andy Feddema. “Mitch Dorr offered me a job at St. John the Baptist in Jordan (Minnesota) teaching 4th through 7th grades.”
Mitch left CCHS after 20 years of coaching and teaching this last fall and he had an excellent working relationship with Andy.
After years of coaching as an assistant and then becoming Viking Head Coach three years ago, Mike Prom has stepped down as head football coach. Steven Anderson will take the reigns as the Viking’s new head football coach next fall.
In other changes to staffing:
Emily Roy was hired as a 5th grade long -term substitute and Theresa Oberg will be the new business manager/payroll specialist.
School secretary Jeanne Anderson will resign, at the end of the school year and paraprofessional Kaylor Nicolson’s last day will be April 22, 2022.
Principal Myers reported that during the weeks of Feb. 12 to March 14 the school has had zero positive COVID cases in the student body and zero in the staff.
