The school board unanimously agreed to hire two school bus drivers at its Oct. 20 meeting.
Both Anne Rosenquist, who used to drive school bus, and part-time driver Terry Backlund were given full-time jobs.
The school board accepted, with regrets and “sincere appreciation of service to the district,” the resignation of school bus driver Clark Bloomquist.
Two resignations accepted with sincere appreciation for their service were Margo Furcht, manager of Upper Shores Center for Athletics and Fitness, and Dustin Nelson, paraprofessional. Nelson has moved and Furcht is working part-time in Duluth as a physical therapist.
Filling two paraprofessional positions are Lynsey Smith and Clara Weitz. Their contracts call for 35 hours per week. Brad Rude was hired as a school bus paraprofessional at 18 hours per week.
Volunteer elementary school volleyball coach Kristin van den Berg and volunteer flag football coach Chris Goettl were approved to work with the kids even though their seasons were over. Both were commended for the great job they did working with the kids this fall.
