Birch Grove Foundation provides the west end of Cook County with a community, recreation and senior center. On July 23, 2015 we will begin a yearlong celebration of our 30th Anniversary: A Year to Remember. We hope you will take a tour or visit us very soon!

We are very happy to announce our board of directors welcomed Ginny Cooley of Tofte. She joined the board on April 16, 2015 and is also the chair for our Senior Connect West program. Ginny will be helping to ensure that our super seniors’ wishes are met as we develop our accredited west end senior center over the next few years. Ginny is an avid fitness participant and has been instrumental in our growing fitness offerings— Go4Life on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Zumba Gold on Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

Our Hearth Oven and Bread Baking Team Initiative (HOBBIT) has a new manager! Trevor Huggins will be baking for our West End (W.E.) Pizza & Party every Wednesday, 5 p.m. to close. The oven will be fired Wednesdays May 6 – Sep 30, 2015. On Thursday mornings people can bake bread in the warm oven and connect with Trevor on learning how to bake. RSVPs are requested at 218-663-7977.

Helping seniors stay fit is one of the goals of the Senior Connect West program. It looks like a lot of fun along with the fitness.
