Congratulations to the Cook County North Shore Hospital New Year’s baby! The first baby of 2011 was born to Charlie and Samantha LaBoda of Hovland. Rolland Eugene LaBoda was born on January 18, 2011 at 12:15 a.m. Rolland weighed 6 pounds 9.5 ounces and was 18 inches long. He was delivered by Dr. Sandy Stover and Dr. Jenny Delfs. He is happily welcomed by his grandparents Kari and Joe Peterson and Dennis LaBoda and Darnelle LaBoda of Hovland. Rolland Eugene is named after his greatgrandpa Eugene LaBoda. Rolland’s mom, Samantha said, “Many thanks to the hospital staff! They went above and beyond!”

Joel and Renee Pike proudly announce the birth their son, Hudson James. Born at St. Luke’s Hospital on January 15, 2011 at 1:40 p.m., he was 7lbs 14oz and 20.3 inches long. He is welcomed home by big brother Joshua and big sisters Rachel and Madelynn. During this time, the family also remembers Emily Grace, their third child who is now in heaven.
