National Day of Prayer is May 7

Our country needs prayer, and the Christian Church needs revival! Revival is an awakening; and awakening from sleep, from lethargy, from laziness, and everything else that is holding us back from being the salt and light in this needy world. II Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sins, and heal their land.”

Christian, what are you listening to; what are you watching; what are your lips saying; what are your hands doing and where are your feet going? “We are not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans12:2.

We have a Holy God, who loved this world so much that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. Are we sharing this wondrous Gospel with the lost around us? Are we living lives that reflect His presence in our words and actions? “If we have sin in our heart, the Lord will not hear us.” Psalm 66:18.

Let us ask God the Holy Spirit to search our hearts and know our thoughts, and show if there be any wicked way in me?” Psalm 139:24. “I the Lord search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:10. Nothing is hidden from God. We need to repent of wrongdoing, wrong thoughts, wrong motives. God will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Ist Thessalonians 5:18. Then we are ready to pray, and ask God to show us how He would have us pray. The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16. We know that the only righteousness in us is the righteousness of Jesus Christ that has been imputed to us by the Holy Spirit.

Thursday, May 7 is National Day of Prayer. Come pray at the courthouse steps from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chair, and we will social distance and practice recommended health guidelines.
