Nancy Elizabeth Netland


Nancy Elizabeth Netland passed away after a brave battle with cancer on February 19 in Duluth, MN with her husband by her side. She was born on October 18, 1952 to Robert and Lois Green and grew up in Richfield, MN. After high school graduation Nancy moved to Tofte where she met the love of her life. Nancy graduated with degrees from Lake Superior College’s Baking and Educational Assistant programs. She married in 1976. She worked as an Educational Assistant. Over the years she worked in many classrooms including kindergarten, ECFE, and School Readiness for the Duluth Public Schools. Nancy loved all of the children and enjoyed long-lasting friendships with the people she worked with. She had two children, Shanna Marie and Ryan Robert who were the joy of her life. Nancy was beautiful inside and out, always thinking of others first. She loved spending time outdoors and at her lake cabin. Nancy was an avid reader and enjoyed going to garage sales and shopping for bargains. She was preceded in death by her parents and survived by her siblings, James Green, Mary Strouse, Kathy Green (Duke Schantzen), husband Ken, children Shanna (Scott) Kottke, Ryan Netland, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. 1325 N. 45th Ave East Duluth, MN 55804. Visitation at 1:00 p.m. followed by Funeral at 2:00 p.m.
