Myrtle May Berglund,
97, of Redding and formerly of Grand Marais, passed away peacefully in her sleep Nov. 6, 2012.
She was born in Wyoming, Minn. on Aug. 28, 1915, and grew up in Grand Marais.
Myrtle May Rhea married Paul Berglund on Aug. 2, 1933. They operated the Pyrofax Gas Co. (now known as Como) in Grand Marais.
They had five children: Richard Berglund, Rhea Backstrom, Marion Purcell, Henry Berglund and William Berglund.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Paul Berglund; son, Richard Berglund; grandson, Kenneth Alpheus; great-grandson, Gabreal Beeler; and three sisters, Grace (Stanley) Smith of Grand Marais, Vivian (Andy) Johnson of Grand Marais; and Theo Gunther of Paris, Texas.
Myrtle is survived by four children, 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 17 at Happy Camp Bible Church.
