The Friends of Brad Memorial Foundation (FOBMF) is pleased to announce its annual scholarship competition for young musicians in rural Northeastern Minnesota. High school seniors planning to pursue musical endeavors while attending college are invited to apply.
Two $750 scholarships are available. These one-time scholarships are open to student musicians residing in rural areas of St. Louis, Itasca, Lake, and Cook counties (excluding Duluth). Strong preference will be given to students who plan to major in music and pursue music-related careers. Those with musical backgrounds who plan to participate in performance activities such as ensembles, bands, or choirs in college are encouraged to apply.
“Pursuing a career in music is not easy and resources for young musicians—particularly in rural areas—are lacking. The intention of this scholarship opportunity is to encourage student musicians and provide them with a small incentive to assist with their educational and professional goals,” says Troy Rogers, FOBMF president.
The scholarship application deadline is Friday, April 14, 2017 at 5 p.m. (CST). More information and an application are available online: www.friendsofbrad.org/scholarships.
