Multiple issues with Social Justice Conference column and letter

Realizing there are at least two sides to every story, I am only responding to one of the many wrong or misleading statements in last week’s rants against the upcoming Social Justice Conference at ISD 166.

Parents and community members were encouraged to attend the conference and aid the effort from its inception. I know because I, and several of my friends, are showing up at the school Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. to help coordinate the effort.

There is also an opportunity for community members and parents scheduled for Thursday evening before the session to hear from the conference keynote speaker, Billy Blackwell.

I urge everyone to go to the school’s website and see for yourself the many opportunities students can choose to attend. No one is dictating to them what they must do.

Check it out for yourself.
