Mostly Fiber Festival and Open House at Johnson Heritage Post

Earlier this year at North House's Wooden Boat show, these talented young ladies (pictured above) were more than happy to display their skills. Similarly, there will be plenty of spinning, weaving, felting, and knitting at the Johnson Heritage Post on Friday, December 22, but no doubt there will be plenty of weavers and spinning wheel craftspeople working their magic during the show and craft sale.

The week of December 18-23 Johnson Heritage Post (JHP) in downtown Grand Marais will turn into a working fiber studio with demonstrations and sales by local fiber artisans. The public is cordially invited to participate in the “fun days” in which artisans will be doing everything from spinning, dyeing, weaving, felting, and knitting.

If anyone does any of these crafts, join us anytime Monday-Thursday. A mini-fiber market will be ongoing but will be focused on Friday and Saturday.

Hours at the JHP will be Monday, December 18 and Thursday, December 21 from noon to 4 p.m.; Friday, December 22 the JHP will be open at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, December 23, the doors will be open to the public 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
