For the third year in a row, the Eastern Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin Regional Financial Office (RFO) of Thrivent Financial has been awarded the 2013 Regional Financial Office of Excellence.
The award, known as the Karsten Lundring RFO of Excellence award, is the organization’s highest honor for performance. Under the leadership of Managing Partner Tom Young, the RFO excelled in several performance goals such as hiring and retention of financial representatives, sales growth, member retention and attracting new members.
“The Eastern Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin region has established a pattern of excellence in serving members in the region,” said Nikki Sorum, divisional vice president for Thrivent Financial. “Their dedication and service is representative of the organization’s desire to help more members be wise with money and live generous lives.”
Tom Young and his leadership team of Lisa Warren, Elena Beckius, Jeff Hakala, Craig Smaagaard, Katie Urbaniak, Jonathan Behnken, Scot Kretzschmar, Thomas Kuykendall, David Wegenke and Stacy Nystrom were honored by the organization at a national conference in February.
Thrivent Financial has also been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute, an independent center of research promoting best practices in corporate ethics and governance, as a 2014 World’s Most Ethical Company.
This is the third time that Thrivent has been honored with this award, which recognizes organizations that continue to raise the bar on ethical leadership and corporate behavior. Thrivent is one of only five companies in the financial services industry honored this year.
The World’s Most Ethical Company assessment is based upon the Ethisphere Institute’s Ethics Quotien framework. The Ethics Quotient framework has been developed over years of effort to provide a means to assess an organization’s performance in an objective, consistent and standardized way. The information collected provides a comprehensive sampling of definitive criteria of core competencies, rather than all aspects of corporate governance, risk, sustainability, compliance and ethics. The Ethics Quotient framework and methodology was determined, vetted and refined by the expert advice and insights gleaned from Ethisphere’s network of thought leaders and from the World’s Most Ethical Company Methodology Advisory Panel.
Thrivent Financial is represented on the North Shore by Gary E. Zinter and Gregory J. Hanson in Silver Bay.
