Jason Davis of KSTP TV, known for the On the Road program he’s produced for nearly 40 years, made a trip to Grand Marais recently for one of Michael Monroe and Deb Mueller’s Log Cabin Concerts. David Peterson, his photographer/videographer, drove his two-wheel van up through the snow. After interviewing Monroe and Mueller, Davis interviewed Bob Pranis of Grand Marais, Louise Reavis of Hovland and Craig Peterson of Grand Marais about their experiences at the Log Cabin Concert and he and Peterson filmed portions of the show.
They were there for about five hours and the piece will be edited to just a few minutes and featured as part of the KSTP and WDIO newscasts.
Davis will be retiring on May 30, 2014 after 45 years of broadcasting and 40 years of presenting his show. Monroe and Mueller were honored to be able to host Davis in their home and excited that he chose Log Cabin Concerts to be one of his last programs. Davis previously filmed them in their rustic solar-powered log cabin nearly 17 years ago. Monroe created the soundtrack for Davis’ program, Soaring On Mended Wings, for which they both received regional Emmys.
The show will be seen on Duluth’s WDIO TV on a yet-to-beannounced date.
