Mobile Food Pantry coming to Cook County

The AEOA Mobile Food Pantry program is making a return to Cook County. For those who meet the income guidelines or who are in crisis, the pantry provides a monthly supply of supplemental nutritious foods.

While availability varies, one may receive shelf-stable, fresh or frozen protein, grains, fruits, vegetables, and dairy. These include cereal, pasta, brown or white rice, protein like beef, chicken, tuna, peanut butter, dairies like milk or cheese, fruits and vegetables, and more.

Food will be distributed on the fourth Wednesday of every month, rain or shine. For the county’s east end, distribution will be held at the Grand Portage Community Center from 11:30 a.m. to noon. In Grand Marais, food will be distributed at the Cook County Community Center from 1:30 to 2 p.m.

The distribution sites will consist of a low-contact, safe, drive-through format. Therefore, please be ready to provide basic information like name, address, the number of people in your household and household income.

Please make sure your vehicle can hold one or two food boxes (limit of four households per vehicle).
