MNsure opening enrollment Nov. 1

Are you ready to get health insurance or stay covered?

You can sign up for health and dental insurance through MNsure starting November 1.

Need help? Free, expert in-person MNsure-certified navigators and brokers across the state are ready to assist you in your application. In Cook County, Sawtooth Mountain Clinic (387-2330) has a trained MNsure navigator ready to answer questions and assist you with the application.

The MNsure marketplace is the only place to qualify for financial help such as tax credits that can reduce the impact of premium increases.

At MNsure.org one can compare plans from multiple companies side-by-side and figure out total estimated costs so you can find the best possible plan for and your family.

Individuals who make $47,520 annually (or less), or a family of four earning up to $97,200 per year qualify for a tax credit. The average tax credit last year was $206 per month.

This open enrollment does not apply if you are enrolled in Minnesota Care or Medical Assistance.

The 2017 open enrollment begins November 1, 2016, and ends January 31, 2017.

Why sign up for health insurance?

Health insurance protects your wallet in case of unexpected illness or accident. Medical bills can add up fast without it. You will be able to rest easier knowing you and your family are covered.

And finally, it’s the law. If you don’t have health insurance, you might have to pay a tax penalty.
